AGA Board member Jim Nugent announced today that Global Golf Post will once again donate funds to support the San Francisco City Golf Championship. The San Francisco City Golf Championship, known locally as “The City,” was inaugurated in 1917 and is the country’s oldest municipal golf tournament. It boasts notable past champions such as Ken Venturi and Harvie Ward and annually provides competitive opportunities for roughly 600 players across all ages and abilities in its nine different flights. “As we have in the previous two years, we want to support this historically significant tournament and the players who compete in it” said Nugent, who is the Founder and Publisher of Global Golf Post. “Amateur golf is a part of the DNA of The Post,” Nugent stated. “We take great pride and similar joy in supporting the amateur game, globally.”
