Kingston Springs, TN – In the seventh AGA Women’s Amateur Championship, two-time U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion Julia Potter-Bobb won the mid-amateur division and 2025 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur champion Dawn Woodard claimed a second straight senior division title. At the Golf Club of Tennessee’s Lower Course, Potter-Bobb shot 6-over par (72-75-72) to finish one stroke ahead of 2025 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion Ina Kim-Schaad and four-time U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion Meghan Stasi.
“I honestly came into this event with no expectations,” Potter-Bobb said. “It was more of a barometer to see how I’m playing and what the work I put in in the off-season has done for me. So to be able to walk away with a ‘W’ against such a strong and accomplished field really means a lot.”
Potter-Bobb started the final round one stroke behind Lauren Greenlief, a three-time AGA Women’s Amateur and 2015 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Champion. But as a member of the final group, Potter-Bobb started slowly, playing her first five holes in 3-over par.
But back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11 brought her back into the tournament, and she was tied for the lead going into the par-5 17th hole. She sealed the championship with a birdie-par finish.
“It was rainy at the start and I think that affected the way I was playing at the beginning, ”Potter-Bobb said. “But to be able to come back and just keep my head down and understand it’s 18 holes for a reason, really kept me in it.”
Woodard went wire-to-wire to win the senior division, shooting 2-over par (69-73-73) to finish six strokes clear of Tara Joy-Connelly, the runner-up for a second straight year.
Woodard entered the final round with a three-stroke lead and played her first nine in 2-under par. With her lead at eight strokes, Woodard’s four straight bogeys on the back nine were not nearly enough to derail her championship quest.
